ARTIST STATEMENT
I love color, especially the blues. When I close my eyes, I see colors. I use color to demonstrate my feelings of joy, excitement, and exuberance. I am an abstract creator. I work intuitively. My work exemplifies my unlimited imagination. I use acrylic paint, pens, and pencils on canvas and paper. My work inspires delight in others as it does in me. It leaves them wanting to see more and inspires me to make more.

About the Artist
Cathy A. Keaton is an abstract artist born in Stony Point, NC. She currently lives and works in Raleigh NC. Cathy began her artistic journey as one of "Raleigh's People in Portraits" in 2019, which was a group sponsored by the City of Raleigh and taught by artist Peter Marin. Since that time, creating art has become a passion for Cathy, and it gives her freedom to express her artistic vision in a way that is both liberating and restorative.
Cathy received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Winston Salem State University. She is a Realtor in the Triangle Area and retired from the US Postal Service in 2009.
