Annelies Gentile
Meet the Artist
Annelies M Gentile, MA, PCC is a Visionary, an Integrative Life and Leadership Executive Coach, Speaker, Process Artist and Author of From Chaos to Calm : Leading Change from the Inside Out. With an extensive creative career, Masters degree in Coaching and an intuitive gift for listening and creating Annelies is an invaluable guide to resilience— sense, solace and sanity for our rapidly changing world.
Annelies' quest, always and in all ways, is to pierce the veil between observer and artist, blurring the lines between perception and possibility, inviting people into a creative process even when they might feel they're not allowed to. She gives people permission to explore in unconventional ways.
Being neurodivergent helps her think differently-- which provides out-of-the-box perspective, a unique asset to those she serves.
Through her art and integrative processes Annelies invites people to connect to their creative genius to evoke resilience and ideation, improve wellbeing, focus, collaboration, empathy and transformative leadership to tending grief associated with change.
Clients include IBM, GSK, City of Raleigh, Fidelity, Baptist Medical, UNC-REX, Campbell Law, NC Bar Association, Captrust, Iron Mountain, WakeMED, NAMI, Novo Nordisk and many more.
Her wide breadth of visual art has been featured in galleries and businesses including Fearrington, VAE, Bickett, Neomonde, Tasca Brava, RTP, UAE Embassy in Washington DC, and in private collections from Abu Dhabi to Phoenix and the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Collective in NYC, Arts Access in Raleigh, NC and many more.
Her education includes a masters in Coaching (Maryland University of Integrative Health), graduate studies in Creative Process, Conflict Transformation, Peacebuilding (European Graduate School in Switzerland), Transformative Leadership (Tai Sophia Institute), and is a Professionally Certified Coach (PCC) with globally recognized International Coaching Foundation.
Annelies has been inspiring people through unconventional acts of creativity since 1992. As an artist she focuses on the value of creative process verses product. Her works are often interactive and collaborative, inviting the viewer to engage and be a part of what’s being created.
She's a multi-disciplinary Process Artist focusing on an integrative approach from visual fine arts and sculpture to expressive arts and movement, poetry, song to positive psychology; she’s created with metal, photography, plaster, paint, resin, fabric, hair, make-up and people as a coach and facilitator.
Her interactive art is experiential in process and product. Her most recent abstract creations are wildly taboo interactive paintings that pierce the veil and stir the senses. Rightfully called the Fractal Touchable Series, these paintings are sensory experiences that break the rules of "don't look, don't touch”, inviting you to observe messy process and get involved—touch tactile surfaces, tear canvas from frame, scratch and sniff, and take art into the dark to see life illuminated.
Annelies believes creativity changes everything. From leading retreats on creative process to removable paneled paintings with unique beveled edges to highly textured surfaces that wrap around walls, across rooms, hips and even tables-- Annelies' creative zeal and ability to make magic everywhere is contagious joy worth investing!
On a personal note, Annelies hammocks for happiness, paddleboards for perspective, walks in nature for solace, sings out loud for soul, forages mushrooms for fun, is an amateur astronomer, enjoys cooking and travel to see wild untouched nature, and prefers to do all of the above with her musical sweetheart Greg Whitt of Drum for Change.
