Where's your storefront? How did you decide on a name for the gallery?
We're an online art gallery based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and we operate at pop-up shop locations and festivals throughout the year, as well. We are proud to offer a creative space that connects artists with people who want to learn about and acquire their work. Our gallery name is derived from the Follow the Drinking Gourd folk song.
Do the paintings come framed or need to be framed?
Some of our artwork is framed, however, the majority of our pieces are unframed. This enables our clients to select frames that best suit their design sense, or to display the artwork unframed if preferred. We offer paintings on canvases with painting continuing onto the edges. The edges of canvas paintings are commonly 1/2″ deep. We also offer paintings on acid-free cold press watercolor paper. Are the paintings on the website the only originals available?
Yes, we offer original artwork that is one of a kind.
Does the image on your site accurately represent what I will be sent?
We strive for image accuracy. However, in some instances, the visual representation may be approximate depending on your screen resolution and brightness.
Where can I go to see your artwork in person?
Check our Events page for information about any upcoming shows, pop-up shops, festivals, and exhibitions.
Can I purchase prints?
Yes, some of our artwork is available in the form of giclée prints.
Do you only sell paintings?
We're really creative folks, so in addition to paintings, we also sell jigsaw puzzles inspired by our original artwork, jewelry, ornaments, textile art, and books.
SHIPPING AND PAYMENTS
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, JCB, and Shopifypay.
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout and depend on the packed art or object dimensions, destination, and value. We offer free shipping on domestic orders of $80.00 or more. Items ship out within 5 to 7 days once payment has been received in full.
Can you ship to a P.O. Box?
Yes, we can deliver packages 11" x 14" and smaller paintings to a P.O. box. Larger pieces of artwork must be shipped to a street address.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your art ships, we'll send you a confirmation email message that includes a tracking number.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Our orders are shipped using either USPS or UPS. The transit time can vary depending on customer location and there may be customs delays. All international orders may be subject to import duties and taxes assessed by local governments and are due upon delivery. This is the purchaser's responsibility and is not included in the order total.
Are gift cards available for purchase?
Yes, gift cards may be purchased in any amounts. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work with you to create the perfect gift card.
Gifts of art are a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion. Artwork can be an investment piece, or a treasured object that can be passed from generation to generation. Create a wedding, baby, college, or housewarming registry for a single artwork, a specific selection of artworks or a gift card. For the recipient(s), the gallery provides consultation and advise in artwork selection. For the the gift giver, we ensure all contributions to the registry are noted through acknowledgement cards. A gift registry can include any item represented at the gallery. Contact us for more details about establishing a registry.
Do you accept commissions?

RETURNS AND DAMAGED ARTWORK
Do you accept returns?
All sales are final.
What should I do if I receive a damaged piece of art?
We take great care with the packaging of artwork, so it is rare for a piece to arrive damaged. However, if you do receive a piece of artwork that is damaged, please give us a call at 919-627-4994 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org within 48 hours of receipt. Please save the box and all packaging material; we need these items in order to process the claim.
Is it possible to purchase artwork for an office, restaurant, or hotel?
Absolutely. We would love the opportunity to help you curate a collection of artwork for your business location. You may buy the artwork. Or, if you would prefer to lease paintings instead, we can make those arrangements. Please e-mail us at email@example.com for more information.

Drinking Gourd Gallery features an eclectic range of art from representational paintings to abstract expressionism to textile art and more. The Gallery is always interested in seeing new and recognized talent and reviews submissions of original artwork on an ongoing basis for solo exhibitions and gallery representation. We are not able to accept mail or or drop-off submissions.
