Vasomotor symptoms (VMS), commonly called hot flashes and night sweats inspired this piece.  This vasomotor menopause symptom impacts roughly 75 percent of American women going through perimenopause and menopause, according to The North American Menopause Society (NAMS). You are viewing the back of this woman as she leans to the side and shouts to anyone in earshot, “IS IT HOT IN HERE? OR, IS IT JUST ME?” If you look closely, you may be able to see some of the faceless women that I “tattooed” on my subject’s arms and back.
