There is no one definition of folk art. Broadly speaking, folk art celebrates cultural and spiritual life in communities. It encompasses art forms such as paintings, basketry, jewelry, metalwork, pottery, textiles, carvings, sculpture and much more. The work may be both utilitarian and decorative and does not always follow customary rules of perspective and proportion.
